Fastening off to change color

Fastening off: Whenever you want to change the colour of the yarn or you have completed the work, you can cut the yarn leaving few inches from your last work and draw tightly after pulling this end through the last loop on the hook. You can darn in this loose end later.

Over a period of time your crocheted garment tend to get dirty, but never allow it to get too soiled. Taking little extra care while washing will protect your garments for a longer period. When the crocheted garment get very dirty, you may have to wash it with extra brushing and this brushing might damage the garment.

First soak your detergent, be it soap or gel or powder, in hot water first and bring the temperature down by adding cold water. Ensure that the garment is fully soaked into the detergent solution and allow the detergent to work on the dirt of the fabric. You need not agitate or rub the garment within the tub or the bucket of detergent, as any such rubbing or agitating will stretch the garment leading to loosing its shape.
